The 2025–2026 CTE Project Overview

The 2025–2026 school year gave these technical students an unmatched opportunity to apply structural design, framing mechanics, and roofing fundamentals to actual public projects right here in our area. Funding these vocational programs shapes the future of local trades in the Mid-Willamette Valley. The students tackled several major structural challenges, proving that the next generation of local builders has what it takes to meet high industry standards:

• The 8’ x 8’ Gable Shed: This work-based learning project was an excellent introduction to real-world construction mechanics. Students learned how to establish a square foundation, construct sturdy wall framing, install exterior siding, and master the basics of weatherproofing and roof shedding.
• The "Crooked Playhouse": Do not let the fun name fool you. Building a structural project with intentional, non-traditional angles requires specialized geometric accuracy and creative structural problem-solving. This build pushed the students to think critically about weight distribution and precise joint attachment.
• Giving Back to Sunrise Elementary: The high school students applied their newly acquired skills directly to a local community need. They partnered with Sunrise Elementary to construct custom agricultural planter boxes for the school’s growing agriculture program. This shows the kids how construction can directly serve local education.

13 seniors who earned their completion certificates in the CTE Construction Trades Program this year, preparing them for success with relentless hard work, dedication, and tremendous personal growth!
